The Kingdom Of Heaven

"In those days came John The Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judea, "Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand." For this is he who was spoken of by the prophet Isaiah when he said, "The voice of one crying in the wilderness: Prepare the way of the Lord, make His paths straight." Now John wore a garment of camel's hair, and a leather girdle around his waist; and his food was locusts and wild honey. Then went out to him Jerusalem and all Judea and all the region about the Jordan, and they were baptized [see Baptism] by him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins." (Matthew 3:1-6 RSV)

Earth What Did Jesus Christ Say About The Kingdom Of Heaven?

The debate continues as to whether of means in, or just in, heaven. How did Jesus Christ describe it?

"From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, "Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand." (Matthew 4:17 RSV)

"Pray then like this: Our Father Who art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven." (Matthew 6:9-10 RSV)

"I tell you, many will come from east and west and sit at the table with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the Kingdom of Heaven" (Matthew 8:11 RSV)

"For truly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished. Whoever then relaxes one of the least of these Commandments and teaches men so, shall be called least in the Kingdom of Heaven; but he who does them and teaches them shall be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven." (Matthew 5:18-19 RSV)

"I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven." (Matthew 16:19 RSV)

"For the Son of man came to seek and to save the lost." As they heard these things, He proceeded to tell a parable, because He was near to Jerusalem, and because they supposed that the Kingdom of God was to appear immediately. He said therefore, "A nobleman went into a far country to receive a kingdom and then return." (Luke 19:10-12 RSV) (see The Return Of Jesus Christ)
