"For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, says The Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and return not thither but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall My Word [see The Logos] be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and prosper in the thing for which I sent it." (Isaiah 55:8-11 RSV)

Thinking Perhaps the greatest similarity that humans have with God is our ability, our God-given ability, to think. The carnal nature of our thoughts is where the difference comes in, unless, and until, the Holy Spirit of God is added for true Wisdom:

"For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. To set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God's Law, indeed it cannot; and those who are in the flesh cannot please God. But you are not in the flesh, you are in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Any one who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to Him." (Romans 8:5-9 RSV)

The Thoughts Of God Made Known To The Obedient

"Give heed to My reproof; behold, I will pour out My thoughts to you; I will make My Words known to you" (Proverbs 1:23 RSV)

"For lo, He who forms the mountains, and creates the wind, and declares to man what is His thought; Who makes the morning darkness, and treads on the heights of the earth - The Lord, the God of hosts, is His Name!" (Amos 4:13 RSV)

"For what person knows a man's thoughts except the spirit of the man which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is from God, that we might understand the gifts bestowed on us by God. And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who possess the Spirit. The unspiritual man does not receive the gifts of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned." (1 Corinthians 2:11-14 RSV)
