The Holy Father

When you first read the title of this study, "The Holy Father," Who, or who, came to your mind? Was it God? Or was it a religious leader in Rome, who, regardless of whatever great political and religious power and influence he clings to for the time being (until, as prophesied, the day surely comes when the great masses of his followers come to at last realize that they have been misled, and turn on their own (as the Bible describes it) "great harlot" church, and bring it crashing down from within i.e. Revelation 17:16-18, 18:1-24) is no different than any other human? Then, ask yourself if you do, or should, agree with Jesus Christ, your one and only Savior, when He taught that it's utterly blasphemous to use the religious title "Holy Father," or even "Father" alone for religious purposes (i.e. as the Bible also makes plain, there is nothing wrong with calling one's biological male parent "father" in a family context) for anyone other than God, i.e. when Jesus plainly said "call no man your father on earth, for you have one Father, Who is in heaven." (Matthew 23:9 RSV)

Heaven The Title "Holy Father" Belongs To God Alone

Where is the Father? Is His Name hallowed (hallowed means sacred, or set apart for exclusive use)?

"Our Father Who art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name." (Matthew 6:9 RSV)

What is the Third Commandment? Does it say not to use God's Name in vain (from vain comes the word vanity - from the perspective of the Third Commandment, using God's Name for personal human egotism and exaltation)?

"You shall not take The Name of The Lord your God in vain; for The Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His Name in vain." (Exodus 20:7 RSV)

The Beast and The Great False Prophet

Will the end-time "beast" (a great political leader and his allied great religious leader - see Revelation 13) blaspheme God's Name (as their predecessors have been doing for centuries)?

"And the beast was given a mouth uttering haughty and blasphemous words, and it was allowed to exercise authority for forty-two months; it opened its mouth to utter blasphemies against God, blaspheming His Name" (Revelation 13:5-6 RSV)

Just prior to The Return Of Jesus Christ, will the antichrist, a mere human, set himself up in the Temple of God, actually claiming to be God? Will someone also actually falsely claim to be Christ (see False Christs)?

"he takes his seat in the Temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God." (2 Thessalonians 2:4 RSV)

"For false Christs and false prophets will arise and show great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even The Elect." (Matthew 24:24 RSV)

Do both Old and New Testament Scriptures prophesy that the great false church (primarily through its own members while they remain deceived, but also by their "ecumenical" Protestant sympathizers while they too remain deceived i.e. as Jesus Christ warned, "the hour is coming when whoever kills you will think he is offering service to God" John 16:2 RSV) will reject, hate, persecute and even kill God's true servants in an attempt to stop them from preaching the Truth?

"Then the dragon was angry with the woman, and went off to make war on the rest of her offspring, on those who keep the Commandments of God and bear testimony to Jesus" (Revelation 12:17 RSV)

"Men worshiped the dragon, for he had given his authority to the beast, and they worshiped the beast, saying, "Who is like the beast, and who can fight against it?" And the beast was given a mouth uttering haughty and blasphemous words, and it was allowed to exercise authority for forty-two months; it opened its mouth to utter blasphemies against God, blaspheming His Name and His dwelling, that is, those who dwell in heaven. Also it was allowed to make war on the saints [see What Is A Saint?] and to conquer them. And authority was given it over every tribe and people and tongue and nation, and all who dwell on earth will worship it, every one whose name has not been written before the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb that was slain. If any one has an ear, let him hear: If any one is to be taken captive, to captivity he goes; if any one slays with the sword, with the sword must he be slain. Here is a call for the endurance and faith of the saints." (Revelation 13:4-10 RSV)

"Then I desired to know the truth concerning the fourth beast [see The Four Beasts and Daniel's Statue], which was different from all the rest, exceedingly terrible, with its teeth of iron and claws of bronze; and which devoured and broke in pieces, and stamped the residue with its feet; and concerning the ten horns that were on its head, and the other horn which came up [see Emperors and Popes] and before which three of them fell, the horn which had eyes and a mouth that spoke great things, and which seemed greater than its fellows. As I looked, this horn made war with the saints, and prevailed over them, until the Ancient of Days came, and judgment was given for the saints of the Most High, and the time came when the saints received the Kingdom." (Daniel 7:19-22 RSV)

Fact Finder: What is the coming fate of the beast and the great false prophet? What is Jesus Christ going to do to them?
Revelation 19:20

Important Note: The author of this study was raised a Roman Catholic (including attending a Catholic school for 4 years), and although he personally has now had absolutely no association with the Church of Rome in over 25 years, most of his relatives remain practicing Roman Catholics (including his niece for whom he was her "godfather" at her Catholic baptism in the early 1970s). This study is concerned solely with presenting the Truth; it is not an attack on Roman Catholics, most of whom are good, well-meaning, Christian-professing people - who, thank God, are going to one day be set free from the deception that now imprisons them:

"they and the beast will hate the harlot; they will make her desolate and naked, and devour her flesh and burn her up with fire, for God has put it into their hearts to carry out his purpose by being of one mind and giving over their royal power to the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled." (Revelation 17:16-17 RSV)
