Good To The Bone

The lyrics of George Thorogood and The Destoyers' Bad To The Bone:

On the day I was born, the nurses all gathered 'round
And they gazed in wide wonder, at the joy they had found
The head nurse spoke up, and she said, "leave this one alone"
She could tell right away, that I was bad to the bone

Don't Be A Loser,
Repent, And Get On The Winning Side While You Still Can

Earth We live in a world where "bad" is often viewed as something attractive and strong, as illustrated by the above song lyrics (I'm not picking on George Thorogood, I just happened to hear Bad To The Bone on my car radio earlier today - there are thousands of other examples that could have been used, in all types of music), while "good" is often viewed as boring and weak. Satan of course delights in such upside-down attitudes, since, after all, it's still his world (see Who Still Rules The World Today?)

But it's only "Satan's world" for a little while longer (see What Satan Fears Most and When The Cat Will Become The Mouse) because all that is "bad to the bone" is going to be wiped out by an infinitely more powerful and glorious Jesus Christ, who is "good to the bone."

"Let there be no filthiness, nor silly talk, nor levity, which are not fitting; but instead let there be thanksgiving. Be sure of this, that no fornicator or impure man, or one who is covetous, that is, an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no one deceive you with empty words, for it is because of these things that the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience." (Ephesians 5:4-6 RSV)

"Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse! He who sat upon it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. His eyes are like a flame of fire, and on His head are many diadems; and He has a name inscribed which no one knows but Himself. He is clad in a robe dipped in blood, and the name by which He is called is The Word of God. And the armies of heaven, arrayed in fine linen, white and pure, followed Him on white horses. From His mouth issues a sharp sword with which to smite the nations, and He will rule them with a rod of iron; He will tread the wine press of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty." (Revelation 19:11-15 RSV)

"Then the kings of the earth and the great men and the generals and the rich and the strong, and every one, slave and free, hid in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains, calling to the mountains and rocks, "Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who is seated on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb; for the great day of their wrath has come, and who can stand before it?" (Revelation 6:15-17 RSV)
