Note: Haggai occurred during the time period after the Jews had returned from the Babylonian Exile. Darius was a Persian King - the Persians (see Ancient Empires - Persia) had conquered the Babylonians (see Ancient Empires - Babylon), and allowed the Jews to return to Jerusalem, which was still in a state of ruin after King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon had devastated it.
2. Were the people rebuilding their own homes, while ignoring the rebuilding of God's Temple? (Haggai 1:9) (see Temples)
3. Were the people being punished for not attending to God's House? (Haggai 1:9-11) (see "My Father's House")
4. Did God, through Haggai, speak of a future time when there would be great Earthquakes and Signs In The Heavens, just before The Return Of Jesus Christ? (Haggai 2:6-7)
Note: Here is an Old Testament reference to the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, before His First Coming had even occurred!
