Memories Of A Previous Life
by Wayne Blank
What Did Jesus Christ Actually Say?
Jesus Christ remembered witnessing Satan's rebellion (see Satan's Choice), an event that occurred thousands of years before:
"The seventy returned with joy, saying, "Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your Name!"
Jesus Christ plainly stated "before Abraham was, I am" - a statement that so enraged some of His fellow Jews, who should have easily recognized Him as their long awaited Messiah (He literally fulfilled every qualification in the Book - see Which Bible Did Jesus Use? and Aliyya and Haftara), but didn't, that they tried to stone Him to death for telling them the Truth:
"I know that you are descendants of Abraham; yet you seek to kill Me, because My word finds no place in you. I speak of what I have seen with My Father, and you do what you have heard from your father."
A plain statement that Jesus had memories of the time not just before He was born, but before the world was born, even before "in the beginning" of time (time is little more than a measurement of physical change):
"When Jesus had spoken these words, He lifted up His eyes to heaven and said, "Father, the hour has come; glorify Thy Son that the Son may glorify Thee, since Thou hast given Him power over all flesh [see What Is Jesus Christ Doing Right Now?], to give eternal life to all whom Thou hast given Him. And this is eternal life, that they know Thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom Thou hast sent. I glorified Thee on earth, having accomplished the work which Thou gavest Me to do; and now, Father, glorify Thou Me in Thy own presence with the glory which I had with Thee before the world was made." (John 17:1-5 RSV)
