The "Great Day" Of Tabernacles

"On the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you have gathered in the produce of the land, you shall keep the Feast of The Lord seven days [i.e. The Feast Of Tabernacles]; on the first day shall be a solemn rest, and on the eighth day shall be a solemn rest. And you shall take on the first day the fruit of goodly trees, branches of palm trees, and boughs of leafy trees, and willows of the brook; and you shall rejoice before The Lord your God seven days. You shall keep it as a Feast to The Lord seven days in the year; it is a statute for ever throughout your generations; you shall keep it in the seventh month [see The Bible Calendar and Bible Months]" (Leviticus 23:39-41 RSV)

Jesus Christ Observed The Feast Of Tabernacles

River Jesus Christ observed the Feast of Tabernacles; His "living waters" lesson was appropriately taught on "the Great Day":

"About the middle of the Feast, Jesus went up into the Temple [see "My Father's House"] and taught. The Jews marveled at it, saying, "How is it that this man has learning, when he has never studied?" So Jesus answered them, "My teaching is not Mine, but His Who sent Me; if any man's will is to do His will, he shall know whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking on My own authority. He who speaks on his own authority seeks his own glory; but he who seeks the glory of Him who sent him is true, and in him there is no falsehood." (John 7:14-18 RSV)

"On the last day of the Feast, the Great Day [i.e. the eighth day], Jesus stood up and proclaimed, "If any one thirst, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture [see Which Bible Did Jesus Use?] has said, 'Out of his heart shall flow rivers of living water.' [see Living Waters] Now this He said about the Spirit, which those who believed in Him were to receive" (John 7:37-39 RSV)
