Where Can True Wisdom Be Found?by Wayne Blank In the Holy Bible, "wisdom" is used to translate the Hebrew word of the Old Testament (see also The Older Testament) (pronounced) kok-maw meaning to be wise in thought and deed, and the Greek word of the New Testament (pronounced) sof-ee-ah meaning clear, or wise. The Scriptures make plain that wisdom that is based upon the Word of God is the only true wisdom, while carnal "worldly" wisdom is nothing more than dead-end self-righteous vanity i.e. "There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death." (Proverbs 14:12 KJV) and "For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness. And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain." (1 Corinthians 3:19-20 KJV) True Wisdom
"The fear of The Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do His Commandments" (Psalm 111:10 KJV) With the beginning of wisdom (i.e. "The fear of The Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do His Commandments") will come more wisdom:
"For The Lord giveth wisdom: out of His mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: He is a buckler to them that walk uprightly. He keepeth the paths of Judgment [see When Will You Be Judged?], and preserveth the way of His saints [see What Is A Saint?]." (Proverbs 2:6-8 KJV) The difference between true wisdom and worldly wisdom is that the first is of God, the other is of the Devil:
"But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the Truth. This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy." (James 3:14-17 KJV) True wisdom (keeping in mind that wisdom means "to see"), based solely upon the spiritual Light of God's Word, is not widely appreciated in the world (for the reason why, see Who Still Rules The World Today?). It never has been, and never will be until What Satan Fears Most, The Return Of Jesus Christ happens and Christ will rule the world, all of it, in Truth and Righteousness. Until then, the wicked will hate God's Truth and Wisdom, like jackals lurking in the darkness, ever more fearing the Light as it grows brighter and brighter as the Day approaches:
"The fear of The Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction" (Proverbs 1:7 KJV) Jesus Christ was filled with God's Wisdom, as was John The Baptist, The Elijah To Come, who prepared the way for His first coming:
"And he shall go before Him in the spirit and power of Elias [see The Spirit and Power of Elijah], to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for The Lord." (Luke 1:17 KJV) Jesus Christ warned and encouraged His people, then, and now, that their God-given wisdom could not be overcome, even though they would face tribulation because of it:
"Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer: For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist. And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death. And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake." (Luke 21:14-17 KJV)
