"Come Out Of Her, My People"

"And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies. And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, My people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues." (Revelation 18:2-4 KJV)

The Church Of Rome In Prophecy

Woman On The Beast Every once in a while (more often now than at first, as the momentum of this ministry continues to rapidly grow), I write something that is, admittedly, purposefully and deliberately critical of the doctrines, not the people, of the Roman Catholic Church, to which a predictable number of Catholic readers of Daily Bible Study will respond to criticize whatever I wrote as, as one reader commented, the "ramblings of an ignorant Protestant who doesn't understand the teachings of the Church."

Well, the truth is, I do understand the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church quite well, at least as well as the average Catholic, because I was one.

While I personally rejected the Roman Catholic Church as a valid Christian institution over 25 years ago, I was born and raised a Roman Catholic. Most of my relatives are, to this day, Roman Catholics (when my mother died in 2002, as Executor of her Will, to honor her wishes, I very reluctantly arranged for her funeral service to be held in an idol-filled Catholic church, to which everyone, whether they realized it or not, sat through an hour's worth of doctrinal garbage, despite the overwhelming urge to have done her funeral service myself, a sermon based on Bible Truth, in the funeral home chapel). While growing up, I went to a Roman Catholic school for 4 years, taught by priests and nuns (also, a few of my relatives, of my parents' generation, their first cousins, were priests and nuns). I am still officially the "godfather" of my niece from her Roman Catholic baptism in 1974. I am not an "ignorant Protestant who doesn't understand the teachings of the Church." I do fully understand what Roman Catholics teach and believe.

So, the next question may be, why do I now, not merely reject the Church of Rome, but oppose it every chance I get? And even go out of my way to oppose it, as I'm doing with this study?

It has nothing to do with Catholic people, most of whom are very good people. In fact, ironically, many Catholics that I know live more "righteous" lives, on a purely human level, than some true Christians that I know.

It has nothing to do with any personal experience with physical abuses that the Roman Catholic clergy are nowadays widely reported to have committed. As already stated, I attended a Catholic school for 4 years, and during that entire time I never knew of, or experienced, any sort of improper conduct by priests or nuns.

So, why reject the Church of Rome? Put most simply, I am absolutely convinced that the Roman Catholic Church isn't merely wrong about many things - it's not at all what it claims to be. It's actually a devious fraud (in which many of the deceivers are themselves deceived) that is misleading people away from salvation. Anyone who bases their Christian beliefs and practices on The Holy Bible, the actual Word of God, should know that. The Holy Bible is the reason that I'm no longer a Roman Catholic. That's the plain truth.

I believe that people who understand the Truth have a responsibility to make that Truth known to others, respectfully, but also with whatever it takes to get through to them, so that they at least will have heard the Truth. Whether they then accept, or reject it, is their God-given right, a matter between them and the God who will judge them for what they do, or fail to do, thereafter (see When Will You Be Judged? and Bind and Loose).

I believe that Roman Catholics should bail out of a blasphemous and unholy organization that is going down, hard. Not yet, its peak of power and world influence is yet to happen, in the last few years prior to The Return Of Jesus Christ (during which time most "Protestant" churches are going to surrender themselves back to Rome after they see the last Pope's false "miracles" being performed, in effect, erasing the Protestant Reformation), but the Church of Rome is a sinking ship; its Captain is going down with that ship (Revelation 19:20), most of its crew are going down with that ship (Revelation 19:21), but its passengers don't have to, and aren't going to, because when they discover how bad they've been had, it's the Catholic people themselves who are going to bring it down, not so-called "Protestants," not people of other religions, Catholics themselves. That's what the Holy Bible says. "Babylon the great" is going down. If you're a Roman Catholic, wake up, and get out.

"And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues. And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire."

"And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth."

"And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory. And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies. And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues." (Revelation 17:15-16,18,18:1-4 KJV)
