Bush or Kerry?
by Wayne Blank
Many of course would say that it's none of my business anyway, but that isn't entirely true, not any more. Millions of people around the world have been forced to take a keen interest in the US election because after the horrendous criminal attacks of September 11, they have seen, and experienced first hand, how the United States of America has become a different country, understandably so in some ways, but a very aggressive, wounded giant who has come out, often blindly, swinging against everyone in world. That's the greatest tragedy. Many Americans seem convinced that everyone is out to get them, and from that many Americans have abandoned their long-valued and deeply entrenched moral principles of conduct, some to such an extreme that running remote, Nazi-like concentration camps (e.g. at the US military base at Guantanamo, Cuba) or gleefully torturing prisoners of war (e.g. at the Abu Ghraib prison in Baghdad, the very same Iraqi prison where Saddam Hussein's troops tortured prisoners) seem not only acceptable, but desirable.
So too, sometimes, it seems that America's friends have been treated worse than its enemies, or even its friends are regarded as its enemies! The photograph shows US border guards looking across into Canada during one of the "high alerts" last winter. I live about an hour's drive from where that picture was taken, over there across the river in the direction that they're pointing their weapons, and I really don't know what they are on guard against. None of the September 11 terrorists came from Canada; they all came directly from either Saudi Arabia or Pakistan, and even learned to fly those airliners at American flight schools. Americans who actually cross the border into Canada, as millions do every year, and are welcome to do so, feel very much at home here - and are actually statistically safer here than at home because of our lower crime rate. When Florida Governor Jeb Bush was in Canada last summer he stated that he felt as though he hadn't left the US because of the similarity in the people, their values, culture and freedom. Perhaps Governor Bush should mention that reality to his brother, President George W. Bush, and everyone else who has been misled to think otherwise.
Bush or Kerry - Does It Matter?
If you believe that the Holy Bible is the Word of God, then you also know that Bible Prophecy is going to happen. It doesn't matter if George W. Bush is really elected this time, or whether Senator Kerry wins, what is coming is coming. That applies to everyone, everywhere else in the world. Certainly, who becomes the leader of any country, not just the US, makes a difference to a limited degree in matters solely of human affairs, but in matters of Prophecy, it doesn't matter when it comes to having any affect on what God says is going to happen. All of the actors have already been chosen.
When Jesus Christ was asked about what was going to be happening in the years just before His return, this is what He said. And please note that there is not a single "but if George W. Bush is President of the US, then ..." or "but if John Kerry is President of the US, then ..." The Messiah made no such mention because Bush and Kerry don't matter when it comes to what is surely coming.
"And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and His disciples came to Him for to show Him the buildings of the temple. And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down."
Fact Finder: Some people believe that the United States, or George W. Bush, is going to start, or has started, World War 3. On the other hand, who does The Word of God say is going to start World War 3?
