As The Serpent Beguiled Eve

"Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which The Lord God [see YHVH, Adonai, Jehovah, LORD] had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil." (Genesis 3:1-5 KJV)

"If ye receive another spirit"

Holy Bible Eve and then Adam (see Why Eve?) have long been regarded by many as childishly gullible for so easily believing Satan's lies that blatantly contradicted The Lord. As recorded in the Scriptures above, Eve herself actually quoted the Word of God back to Satan when he confronted her. She knew the Truth, but when tested by "another spirit," she and Adam abandoned the Truth walked off into Satan's fantasyland - and their doom.

Adam and Eve were gullible, but not unique. What happened to Adam and Eve has continued ever since. As the apostle Paul (see Paul's Ministry) described in his epistles to the Corinthian and Galatian churches, many people are far too willing to lead, or be led off, into apostasy after they have known and understood the Word of God. Like Eve, many can quote God's Words by memory, but after doing so, or even while doing so, they then go off to their doom.

"But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him." (2 Corinthians 11:3-4 KJV)

"I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ." (Galatians 1:6-7 KJV)

Paul repeated the warning to his faithful associate Timothy, and to us, to defend against apostasy, to never retreat, to not merely hold the line, but to advance the Truth of the Word of God to everyone on earth. If Satan gets in the way, run him down i.e. "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you" (James 4:7 KJV; see also When The Cat Will Become The Mouse)

"Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine."

"For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables." (2 Timothy 4:2-4 KJV)

As we enter the home stretch prior to The Return Of Jesus Christ, Satan is going to expend every resource that he has. It will be a campaign of deception such as the world has never known (see Never Before, Never Again and World War 3 In Prophecy). Those who steadfastly hold to the Truth, who live according to the Word of God, what it actually says, are going to face a horrendous assault, first on their minds, and then, when they cannot, when they will not, be deceived, on their physical lives. But the good news is that those who remain True are going to win. They are the Bulwarks Of The Truth. When Christ returns they shall rule and judge the earth with Him because they remained faithful and true to His Word.

"And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished."

"This is the first resurrection [see When Will You Be Judged?]. Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years" (Revelation 20:4-6 KJV)
