"A great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea"
The good news is that the tsunami relief effort proves that there is goodness in all humanity that very quickly rises to the top in dire times. Families (and that's really all humanity is, a great family) stop fighting when they find themselves faced with common troubles that override the differences that they've created for themselves. The bad news (even though the end result of it will be much more good news - Gospel means good news) is that much more devastation is coming - and no place on earth will be immune from the "natural disasters" that Prophecy says are going to come from every direction, by multiple means. Living 1,000 miles inland will be no safer than living right on a beach. The only place of safety that anyone could ever have is obeying God.
"there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.""as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood; And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed."
"there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters; And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter." (Revelation 8:7-11 KJV)
"there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great. And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell" (Revelation 16:18-19 KJV)
Fact Finder: After The Return Of Jesus Christ, the world will be a very different place than it is now, a place in which the forces of nature will be tranquil, a time in which God will ultimately "wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain" (Revelation 21:4 KJV) and all of those who have been lost at sea (and everywhere else) will be recovered, alive by resurrection, for judgment (e.g. "the sea gave up the dead which were in it" Revelation 20:13 KJV). How does the Bible describe earth at that time?
