Witness Of The Spirit
by Wayne Blank
"The Spirit itself beareth witness"
The Holy Spirit, or Holy Ghost, of God is the power of God that makes all things possible. The Holy Spirit of God was the force of Creation: "And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters." (Genesis 1:3 KJV). The Holy Spirit of God was the "breath" (see The Holy Ghost and The Holy Spirit) that gave life to humans: "And The Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul" (Genesis 2:7 KJV; see also Where Is Your Soul?). The Holy Spirit of God will resurrect the dead: "But if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwelleth in you." (Romans 8:11 KJV)
The Holy Spirit of God is also the means that all will be judged, by God, with absolutely perfect and righteous justice, because the Holy Spirit of God is the power by which nothing is hidden. The Holy Spirit of God is the Spirit of Truth because the Holy Spirit of God sees everything, not merely physical actions, but the motives and intents of all physical actions. There will need to be only one Witness at the Judgment Day, one that can never be mistaken, one that can not be deceived, one that can tell only the Truth, the whole Truth, and nothing but the Truth.
"For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known. Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops. And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear Him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him." (Luke 12:2-5 KJV)
