How To Be A True Christian - Lesson 1
by Wayne Blank
"Think not that I am come to destroy the Law" (Matthew 5:17 KJV)
What the Christian apostle John says to those who believe the Satanic lie that Christians don't have to obey God's Ten Commandments:
"And hereby we do know that we know Him, if we keep His Commandments. He that saith, I know Him, and keepeth not His Commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth His Word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in Him." (1 John 2:3-5 KJV)
After the return of Jesus Christ, everyone will be observing God's Ten Commandments, as made plain in this future reference to the Fourth Commandment, God's seventh-day Sabbath:
"And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one Sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before Me, saith The Lord" (Isaiah 66:23 KJV)
Christ's sacrifice was made for truly repentant people, those who live by God's Laws of Liberty, the Ten Commandments ("whoso looketh into the perfect Law of Liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed," James 1:25 KJV). Self-righteous, unrepentant people who refuse to obey God's Ten Commandments are not going to be saved - they are going to be incinerated in the lake of fire.
"Blessed are they that do His Commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie." (Revelation 22:14-15 KJV)
God's First Law of Liberty
"I am The Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before Me." (Exodus 20:2-3 KJV)
The Creator, the God of Israel, the God of The Holy Bible, made all that exists, including all of the living or lifeless things, or mere ideas (i.e. any political philosophy that one lives by that is contrary to the Word of God, or any science that denies the existence of the Creator of all natural laws of science - see The First Scientist) that humans have made into "gods" - but which in fact are all merely objects created by the Creator.
Only the Creator has the power to be God; looking to anything, or anyone, else for salvation is literally a dead end. This includes anything that is deemed "more important right now" than worship and obedience to the only true God, or worshipping the true God in a manner contrary to His Word (see I Did It My Way...)
Many people, when they read the First Commandment's reference to ancient Egypt feel as though it does not apply to them. They do not appreciate that the "out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage" refers not only to the ancient physical Exodus of God's people, but to how God's people are delivered today from slavery to sin, from bondage to Satan, the "other god of this world" (see Who Still Rules The World Today?). Just as Moses was the deliverer of physical Israelites, so Jesus Christ is the Deliverer of spiritual Israelites:
"God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will." (2 Timothy 2:25-26 KJV)
"Other gods" have a contagious worthlessness - those who worship worthless gods become worthless in God's sight:
"Behold, ye are of nothing, and your work of nought: an abomination is he that chooseth you" (Isaiah 41:24 KJV)
