"For He must reign, till He hath put all enemies under His feet"
The purpose of Christ's first coming was to prepare the way for His second coming ("Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at His coming" - see below). And why is Christ coming back? To establish the Kingdom of Christ? Well, yes, in a way, since Christ is The Way to God ("I am the way, the Truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me," John 14:6 KJV), but Christ is returning to establish the Kingdom of God. When all has been completed by Christ, God is coming to earth ("He shall have delivered up the Kingdom to God, even the Father"), a world that will be made into a peaceful paradise, when all is done.
"But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming [see also When Will You Be Judged?].Then cometh the end, when He shall have delivered up the Kingdom to God, even the Father; when He shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. For He must reign, till He hath put all enemies under His feet." (1 Corinthians 15:20-25 KJV)
Christ is the Prince of Peace because He is going to conquer any and all who oppose God's Law of peace. Then, "they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more."
"For every battle of the warrior is with confused noise, and garments rolled in blood; but this shall be with burning and fuel of fire. For unto us a child is born, unto us a Son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon His kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever." (Isaiah 9:5-7 KJV)"But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of The Lord shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it. And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of The Lord, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and He will teach us of His ways, and we will walk in His paths: for the Law shall go forth of Zion [see Who, What or Where Is Zion?], and the word of The Lord from Jerusalem. And He shall judge among many people, and rebuke strong nations afar off; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more." (Micah 4:1-3 KJV)
