Behold, A White Horse

The return of Jesus Christ is going to be the most spectacular event in Bible History and Prophecy. Unfortunately, for those who fight Him, the world as a whole is not going to welcome Him any more, at first, than they did at His first coming. The world is going to try to make war against the Messiah:

"And the ten horns that you saw are ten kings who have not yet received royal power, but they are to receive authority as kings for one hour, together with the beast. These are of one mind and give over their power and authority to the beast; they will make war on the Lamb, and the Lamb will conquer them, for He is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those with Him are called and chosen and faithful." (Revelation 17:12-14 RSV)

"Then I saw heaven opened and behold, a white horse! He who sat upon it is called Faithful and True"

References to horses in the Scriptures most-often speak of them as animals of war, with chariots or cavalry. Christ Himself will return in such a way.

Holy Bible

"Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse! He who sat upon it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. His eyes are like a flame of fire, and on His head are many diadems; and He has a Name inscribed which no one knows but Himself. He is clad in a robe dipped in blood, and the Name by which He is called is The Word of God." (Revelation 19:11-13 RSV)

Christ will be far from alone. He will also have power that no nation can stop.

"And the armies of heaven, arrayed in fine linen, white and pure, followed Him on white horses.

"From His mouth issues a sharp sword with which to smite the nations, and He will rule them with a rod of iron; He will tread the wine press of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty. On His robe and on His thigh He has a Name inscribed, King of kings and Lord of lords." (Revelation 19:14-16 RSV)

Nevertheless, the world, as a whole, will attempt to fight the Son of God.

"And I saw the beast and the kings of the earth with their armies gathered to make war against Him who sits upon the horse and against his army." (Revelation 19:19 RSV)

Christ will be victorious. With His victory, peace on earth will begin, in which nations will thereafter "beat their swords into plowshares."

"And the beast was captured, and with it the false prophet who in its presence had worked the signs by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped its image. These two were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with sulphur.

And the rest were slain by the sword of him who sits upon the horse, the sword that issues from his mouth; and all the birds were gorged with their flesh." (Revelation 19:20-21 RSV)

"It shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the house of The Lord shall be established as the highest of the mountains, and shall be raised up above the hills; and peoples shall flow to it, and many nations shall come, and say: "Come, let us go up to the mountain of The Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; that He may teach us His ways and we may walk in His paths." For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of The Lord from Jerusalem. He shall judge between many peoples, and shall decide for strong nations afar off; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more." (Micah 4:1-3 RSV)
