Christ's Revelation Of The Father

The word "revelation" means to reveal (see also Apocalypse). The Christ revealed many wonderful things, but perhaps the most important disclosure that He provided was that God is actually a Father. And moreover, The Father has a firstborn Son that has been sent to prepare the way for The Father's coming. The majority of Christians, and Jews, incorrectly believe that "the God of the Old Testament" was The Father, but while many people back then (e.g. Jacob wrestled with the LORD, Abram and Sarai had lunch with the LORD, Moses met face to face with the LORD in The Trysting Tent), Christ plainly stated that He was the only man to ever have seen The Father: "6:46 Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father" (John 6:46 KJV).

"Call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven"

Christ's teachings centered upon the coming Kingdom of God, into which Children Of God will be born (see Born Again, How and When? and When Will You Be Judged?).

Heaven

"5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law [see Jot and Tittle], till all be fulfilled." (Matthew 5:16-18 KJV)

"5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; 5:45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good [see Why Does God Allow Evil?], and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust." (Matthew 5:44-45 KJV)

"6:1 Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven. 6:2 Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 6:3 But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: 6:4 That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret [see Glass Houses] himself shall reward thee openly.

6:5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the Hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 6:6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. 6:7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the Heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. 6:8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. 6:10 Thy kingdom come [see The Gospel of The Kingdom of God]. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. 6:11 Give us this day our daily bread. 6:12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. 6:13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Earth 6:14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses [see Trespass], your heavenly Father will also forgive you: 6:15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses." 6:16 Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 6:17 But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face; 6:18 That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly." (Matthew 6:1-18 KJV)

"6:25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? 6:26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them [listen to the Sermon The Work Commandment from our Sermons page]. Are ye not much better than they? 6:27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?

6:28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: 6:29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 6:30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? 6:31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 6:32 For after all these things do the Gentiles seek: for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God [see The Process Of Conversion], and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." (Matthew 6:25-33 KJV)

"7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? [see I Did It My Way] 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." (Matthew 7:21-23 KJV)

The Ten Commandments "10:19 But when they deliver you up [see The Great Tribulation], take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak. 10:20 For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you." (Matthew 10:19-20 KJV)

"10:32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven [see What Is Jesus Christ Doing Right Now?]. 10:33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven." (Matthew 10:32-33 KJV)

"11:25 At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes [see Spiritual Conception]. 11:26 Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight. 11:27 All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him." (Matthew 11:25-26 KJV)

"12:48 But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren? 12:49 And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! 12:50 For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven [see Do You Know Him?], the same is my brother, and sister, and mother." (Matthew 12:48-50 KJV)

"13:41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; 13:42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire [see Baptism Of Fire]: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. 13:43 Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear." (Matthew 13:41-43 KJV)

"15:12 Then came his disciples, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees [listen to the Sermon Pharisees from our Sermons page] were offended, after they heard this saying? 15:13 But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up. 15:14 Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch." (Matthew 15:12-14 KJV)

"16:16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art The Christ [see also The Coming World Dictator], the Son of the living God. 16:17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven." (Matthew 16:16-17 KJV)

"16:24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples [see Disciples of Christ], If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross [see Carrying The Cross], and follow me. 16:25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. 16:26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? [see Where Is Your Soul?] or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? 16:27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works [see Works Means Obedience]" (Matthew 16:24-27 KJV)

"18:10 Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven [see A Vision of God's Throne]. 18:11 For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost. 18:12 How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray? 18:13 And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray. 18:14 Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish." (Matthew 18:10-14 KJV)

"18:18 Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven [see Bind and Loose]. 18:19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven." (Matthew 18:18-19 KJV)

"18:32 Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me: 18:33 Shouldest not thou also have had Compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee? 18:34 And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him. 18:35 So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses." (Matthew 18:32-35 KJV)

"20:21 And he said unto her, What wilt thou? She saith unto him, Grant that these my two sons may sit, the one on thy right hand, and the other on the left, in thy kingdom. 20:22 But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? They say unto him, We are able. 20:23 And he saith unto them, Ye shall drink indeed of my cup, and be baptized with the Baptism [see also The Origin of Baptism] that I am baptized with: but to sit on my right hand, and on my left, is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father." (Matthew 20:21-23 KJV)

"23:8 But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren. 23:9 And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven [see The Holy Father]. 23:10 Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ." (Matthew 23:8-10 KJV)

"24:36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. 24:37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 24:38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, 24:39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 24:40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left [see The Raptures]. 24:41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 24:42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come [see Could Christ Return Tonight?]" (Matthew 24:36-42 KJV)

"25:31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory [see To Meet The Lord In The Air], and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: 25:32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: 25:33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left [see Baptism Of Fire]. 25:34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:" (Matthew 25:31-34 KJV)

The Return Of Jesus Christ "26:28 For this is my blood of the new testament [see Covenant and Testament], which is shed for many for the remission of sins [see Why Blood?]. 26:29 But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom." (Matthew 26:28-29 KJV)

"26:38 Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me. 26:39 And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt [see Christ's Example of Obedience To The Father]"

26:42 He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me [see Isaac's Faith And Obedience], except I drink it, thy will be done." (Matthew 26:38-39,42 KJV)

"26:51 And, behold, one of them which were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and struck a servant of the high priest's, and smote off his ear [see Malchus]. 26:52 Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword. 26:53 Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels? [see Christ the Conqueror For Peace] 26:54 But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?" (Matthew 26:51-54 KJV)

"28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth [see The Throne Of God, From Heaven To Earth]. 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of The Holy Ghost: 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen." (Matthew 28:18-20 KJV)
