The Spirit Of Wisdom

The Holy Spirit of God has always been "the spirit of wisdom" in His people as they live in a world that is not yet in the Light e.g.

"28:3 And thou shalt speak unto all that are wise hearted, whom I have filled with the spirit of wisdom" (Exodus 28:3 KJV)

"34:9 And Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom; for Moses had laid his hands upon him: and the children of Israel hearkened unto him, and did as the LORD commanded Moses" (Deuteronomy 34:9 KJV)

Jesus Christ had the Holy Spirit, "the spirit of wisdom," from which His perfect righteousness flowed:

"11:1 And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: 11:2 And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD; 11:3 And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears: 11:4 But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked" (Isaiah 11:1-4 KJV)

You, sooner or later, will have the same "spirit of wisdom" if you choose to accept it when it comes (see the Fact Finder question below).

"1:17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: 1:18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints" (Ephesians 1:17-18 KJV)

God's Wisdom Is Not Man's Wisdom

The ancient Greeks (see Ancient Empires - Greece) were famous as "great thinkers" ("the Greeks seek after wisdom" 1 Corinthians 1:22 KJV), philosophers of the natural world, as viewed by the mind of man. Such a perspective may make plain that the Creation exists, but it's only through the addition of the Holy Spirit that the Creator may be known, as Paul explained with "2:4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power. 2:5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God" (1 Corinthians 2:4-5 KJV).

The Word of God

"2:1 And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God [see God's Wisdom]. 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. 2:3 And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling. 2:4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: 2:5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God." (1 Corinthians 2:1-5 KJV)

"2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned" (1 Corinthians 2:14 KJV) provides the reason that the Holy Spirit must come before "we have the mind of Christ" (1 Corinthians 2:16 KJV).

"2:6 Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought: 2:7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a Mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory [see Christ The Creator]: 2:8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory [see When Their Eyes Were Opened]. 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 2:10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

2:11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but The Spirit Of God. 2:12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. 2:13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which The Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

2:15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. 2:16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ." (1 Corinthians 2:6-16 KJV)
