The Second Account Of Man
The account of the creation of man (a Hebrew name for man, as a species, pronounced aw-dawm, is the origin of the name "Adam"):
"1:24 And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so. 1:25 And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
"The LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life"
The second chapter of Genesis provides more detail for the creation of humans than Genesis chapter 1. Although some interpret the two accounts to be two different creations of humans, the second is merely a more a magnified historical view of the same beginning of "adam" i.e. man as a species, male and female.
"2:4 These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God [see Christ The Creator] made the earth and the heavens, 2:5 And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground. 2:6 But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground. 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life [see The Spirit Of God]; and man became a living soul [see Where Is Your Soul?]." (Genesis 2:4-7 KJV)
Fact Finder: Why did Jesus Christ call Himself "the son of man" (i.e. the son of Adam) e.g "12:40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth" (Matthew 12:40 KJV)?
