Feast Of Tabernacles: The Gospel Of The Kingdom

Prophets throughout the Holy Scriptures wrote of the coming Kingdom of God to earth. That is what the true Gospel of The Kingdom of God is all about.

"2:44 And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever" (Daniel 2:22 KJV; see Nebuchadnezzar's Dream)

"4:1 But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the LORD shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it. 4:2 And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion [see Zionism], and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. 4:3 And he shall judge among many people, and rebuke strong nations afar off; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more." (Micah 4:1-3 KJV)

"11:15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ [see The Messiah]; and he shall reign for ever and ever" (Revelation 11:15 KJV)

"21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. 21:2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 21:3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men [see The Throne Of God, From Heaven To Earth], and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away" (Revelation 21:1-4 KJV)

The Feast Of Tabernacles: The First 1,000 Years Of God's Kingdom On Earth

According to God's calendar, the fifteenth day of the seventh month (Tishri) is the beginning of a Holy festival to the people of "Israel" (see Physical and Spiritual Israel). It's known variously as the Feast of Tabernacles or Festival of Tabernacles, the Feast of Ingathering or Festival of Ingathering, the Feast of Booths or Festival of Booths, Succoth or Sukkot. Like all of the true Christian Holy Days, the Feast of Tabernacles was instituted by Christ ("10:1 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; 10:2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; 10:3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat; 10:4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ. " 1 Corinthians 10:1-4 KJV) as a permanent Christian celebration.

Earth

"Also in the fifteenth day of the seventh month [see Bible Calendar and Bible Months], when ye have gathered in the fruit of the land, ye shall keep a feast unto The Lord [see also YHVH, Adonai, Jehovah, LORD] seven days: on the first day shall be a Sabbath, and on the eighth day shall be a Sabbath. And ye shall take you on the first day the boughs of goodly trees, branches of palm trees, and the boughs of thick trees, and willows of the brook; and ye shall rejoice before The Lord your God seven days. And ye shall keep it a feast unto The Lord seven days in the year. It shall be a statute for ever in your generations: ye shall celebrate it in the seventh month. Ye shall dwell in booths seven days; all that are Israelites born shall dwell in booths: That your generations may know that I made the children of Israel to dwell in booths, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am The Lord your God." (Leviticus 23:39-43 KJV)

Although at the present time, and as throughout the time since Christ commanded it to be observed, only true Christians have been observing the Feast of Tabernacles, after Christ's return everyone on earth will be joyously observing Christ's Feast of Tabernacles - or face His wrath for stubbornly and foolishly refusing to accept His offer of salvation by obeying Him (see I Did It My Way).

"14:16 And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles. 14:17 And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain. 14:18 And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain; there shall be the plague, wherewith the LORD will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles. 14:19 This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all nations that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles" (Zechariah 14:16-19 KJV)

A Celebration Of The Harvest

The Feast of Tabernacles was also known as the Feast of Ingathering because it occurs at the time of the major harvest of crops (the spring harvest of the crops was smaller than the autumn harvest, just as the "spring" harvest of salvation will be smaller than the "autumn" harvest - as mentioned above, see Seasons Of The Harvest). An abundant harvest and living in temporary shelters are the two profoundly symbolic themes of the festival.

As with all of the true Christian Holy Days, the Feast of Tabernacles has great and joyous significance to Christianity (see the Fact Finder question below).
