The New Exodus and Mount Sinai

The Exodus in the time of Moses is one of the most famous events of Bible History. The purpose of the event was to free those who would follow the LORD - and keep doing so without fail (those who came out of that Exodus but later refused to obey the LORD found themselves on A Journey Without A Destination).

"12:30 And Pharaoh rose up in the night, he, and all his servants, and all the Egyptians; and there was a great cry in Egypt; for there was not a house where there was not one dead.

12:31 And he called for Moses and Aaron by night, and said, Rise up, and get you forth from among my people, both ye and the children of Israel; and go, serve the LORD, as ye have said. 12:32 Also take your flocks and your herds, as ye have said, and be gone; and bless me also. 12:33 And the Egyptians were urgent upon the people, that they might send them out of the land in haste; for they said, We be all dead men." (Exodus 12:30-33 KJV)

As with numerous other things that happened for a purpose, the Exodus was a prophetic object lesson of the ultimate Exodus that is yet to come, including the plagues i.e. "Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues" (see the Fact Finder question below).

"18:3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.

18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues." (Revelation 18:3-4 KJV)

"The mountain of the house of the LORD shall be established in the top of the mountains"

The Israelites were not freed unto anarchy. The Law of God was proclaimed from the mountain of the LORD in Sinai (see The Night Crossing and Why Did Paul Say That Sinai Was In Arabia?).

The Holy Scriptures

"19:16 And it came to pass on the third day in the morning, that there were thunders and lightnings [see The Coming Of Thunder], and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the voice of the trumpet exceeding loud; so that all the people that was in the camp trembled. 19:17 And Moses brought forth the people out of the camp to meet with God; and they stood at the nether part of the mount. 19:18 And mount Sinai was altogether on a smoke, because the LORD descended upon it in fire: and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly. 19:19 And when the voice of the trumpet sounded long, and waxed louder and louder, Moses spake, and God answered him by a voice.

19:20 And the LORD [see Before Abraham Was, I AM'] came down upon mount Sinai, on the top of the mount: and the LORD called Moses up to the top of the mount; and Moses went up. 19:21 And the LORD said unto Moses, Go down, charge the people, lest they break through unto the LORD to gaze, and many of them perish. 19:22 And let the priests also, which come near to the LORD, sanctify themselves, lest the LORD break forth upon them.

19:23 And Moses said unto the LORD, The people cannot come up to mount Sinai: for thou chargedst us, saying, Set bounds about the mount, and sanctify it." (Exodus 19:16-

Just as the Exodus has yet an ultimate fulfillment to come, so too does the proclaiming of God's Law from "the mountain of the LORD," not in Sinai, but from Jerusalem after Christ returns to liberate the people of earth from their slavery to sin and death.

"4:1 But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the LORD shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it.

4:2 And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion [see Zionism], and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. 4:3 And he shall judge among many people, and rebuke strong nations afar off; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more. 4:4 But they shall sit every man under his vine and under his fig tree; and none shall make them afraid: for the mouth of the LORD of hosts hath spoken it. 4:5 For all people will walk every one in the name of his god, and we will walk in the name of the LORD our God for ever and ever." (Micah 4:1-5 KJV)

Fact Finder: Does the plagues upon the Pharaoh of the ancient exodus yet to have an end-time fulfillment - upon all of the "pharaohs" of the carnal world?
