The Titanicans

The Titanic was called "unsinkable" by those who promoted and marketed it, not by those who knew anything about God's laws of physics (see also The First Scientist and No 'Flat Earth' In The Bible). It wasn't the great size that made or kept it afloat; the principles of buoyancy are exactly the same for a rowboat as for a great ocean liner - when undamaged, the boat or ship sinks into the water only as far as to when the weight of water equal to the weight of the boat or ship has been displaced i.e. a 100 pound boat will displace 100 pounds of water, while a 100 ton ship will displace 100 tons of water. Buoyancy is created by the displaced water exerting force on the outer hull of the boat or ship that exactly counters the force of gravity. Tiny boats, or great ships, sink when that pressure is lost; nothing is unsinkable.

As has been the case throughout history, without a single exception, no empire is "unsinkable" either (the Titanic is a direct object lesson of that reality - great ships are often merely imperial show objects created by imperial powers, whether great ocean liners in their time, or great war ships of today). From the perspective of Bible History, the Egyptian Empire "sank" to the Assyrian Empire, which was engulfed by the Babylonian Empire, which was swallowed up by the Persian Empire, which was inundated by the Greek Empire, which was swamped by the Roman Empire.

The reason for the inevitable sinking (to a natural and normal level, not into non-existence - as happened to every single one of the Bible-related empires listed above) was either a direct military counter by a new "superpower" (not necessarily an actual war, but the avoidance of war with a powerful opponent that would not just be a walkover like all of the little countries that had been made part of the empire), or the falling empire was bankrupted by the irrational business of war (from which only a relative few made massive amounts of money, while draining the "blood and treasure" of the nation) that created the imperialistic empire to begin with i.e. vast amounts of, eventually borrowed, money (even some of the ancient empires bankrupted themselves with their lust for great collections of war toys for "defense" - ancient Rome was the prime example) was spent on the military while their own country's infrastructure crumbled and their own people went sick and hungry at home. Eventually, their own war-weary citizens (many thousands of whom saw their children sacrificed while fighting to maintain the empire in other people's countries) rebelled and installed a new, non-aggressive regime for themselves. The nation continued to exist (e.g. Turkey was once one of the greatest world empires of all time; listen to our Sermon The Ottoman Empire), but imperialistic nations usually, in effect, transform themselves from a predatory "shark" to an inoffensive "dolphin." In so doing, they soon find that they have far fewer "enemies" to defend themselves from - they finally wake up to the truth that most of those who "hate" them are just people, no different than anyone else, trying to defend their own homelands from the threats of imperial aggression and invasion.

"In the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed ... it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms and it shall stand for ever"

The world today, as a whole, regards itself as "unsinkable" as the Titanic (while ignoring the lessons of it); humans have become "Titanicans," arrogantly ignoring God's True Word while steaming full speed toward a very hard object, a Rock ("that Rock was Christ" 1 Corinthians 10:4 KJV), that is going to collide with, and sink, the God-rejecting worldly empire of Satan (see Who Still Rules The World Today?) forever. That collision, after which all man-made empires, and those who cling to them by failing to repent when they have the opportunity, are going to sink into the flames of the lake of fire (see The Floods Brought By Christ), was prophesied by the LORD long ago, as recorded in numerous places in the Holy Scriptures, including the book of Daniel and the book of Revelation.

The Holy Scriptures In the book of Daniel:

"2:36 This is the dream; and we will tell the interpretation thereof before the king. 2:37 Thou, O king, art a king of kings: for the God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory. 2:38 And wheresoever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven hath he given into thine hand, and hath made thee ruler over them all. Thou art this head of gold [see Ancient Empires - Babylon].

2:39 And after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee [see Ancient Empires - Persia], and another third kingdom of brass [see Ancient Empires - Greece], which shall bear rule over all the earth [see Alexander The Great In Prophecy].

2:40 And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron [see Ancient Empires - Rome]: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise. 2:41 And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters' clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay. 2:42 And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken. 2:43 And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.

2:44 And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom [see Zionism], which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms [see The Coming World Dictator], and it shall stand for ever. 2:45 Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure." (Daniel 2:36-45 KJV)

In the book of Revelation:

"19:11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war [see Christ the Conqueror For Peace]. 19:12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. 19:13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood [see Why Blood?]: and his name is called The Word of God [see The Logos]. 19:14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses [see A Heavenly Cavalry Charge], clothed in fine linen, white and clean. 19:15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a Rod Of Iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 19:16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

19:17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven [see Heavens Below, Heavens Above], Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God; 19:18 That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.

19:19 And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army [see War With The Lamb]. 19:20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him [see Emperors and Popes], with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. 19:21 And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh." (Revelation 19:11-21 KJV)
