What Will Heaven Be Like?
Jesus Christ is returning to establish the Kingdom of God on earth (see The Gospel of The Kingdom of God). When the Son of God has completed all that He has been given to do (see The By-The-Book Messiah), God The Father is coming to earth. The Throne of God, and Paradise, will from that time be on earth - which by then will be a place made pure by the work of the Messiah.
The New Earth was given to be seen the apostle John.
"21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
"He showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the Throne of God and of the Lamb"
The New Jerusalem, on earth, is the only place in the Word of God that the famous "pearly gates" are found i.e. "21:21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls: every several gate was of one pearl" (Revelation 21:21 KJV)
"21:10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, 21:11 Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal; 21:12 And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel: 21:13 On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates. 21:14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
Only God, His Son, and those made pure by repentance and the salvation that is freely given to the repentant, will inhabit the city.
"21:22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. 21:23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
The area around the city (i.e. all of the earth, which as plainly stated above will by then be pure) will also be Paradise.
"22:1 And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
Fact Finder: How is the term "heaven" actually used in the Word of God? Is earth in "heaven" too?
