The Days Of Christian Work And Rest
It was "the LORD God" Who did the actual work of creation i.e. "the LORD God made the earth and the heavens."
"2:4 These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens" (Genesis 2:4 KJV)
The LORD God is also known as "the Word of God" i.e. as stated above, "All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made."
"1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 1:2 The same was in the beginning with God. 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made." (John 1:1-3 KJV)
Who was (and is) "the LORD God," also known as "the Word of God"? The Holy Scriptures plainly identify Him as Jesus Christ, the Son of God, Who was later born as a man i.e. "the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father."
"1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth." (John 1:14 KJV)
In accordance with the Will of the Father, it was through Jesus Christ that all things were created, so that, when all is done, in Jesus Christ all things will be reconciled to the Father.
"1:12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: 1:13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: 1:14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
"For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath Day"
As plainly stated in the Holy Scriptures quoted above, the work of Creation was done by Jesus Christ. He created physical work with His Creation of the physical world.
"1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
The Fourth of the Christian Ten Commandments (see The First Christian Church) is actually a two-part statement of Creation - two Commandments in one. The first part:
"20:9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work" (Exodus 20:9 KJV)
The second part:
"20:10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: 20:11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it." (Exodus 20:10-11 KJV)
Jesus Christ created the "work week," from the first to the sixth day. Jesus Christ then created the Sabbath, as stated in the Commandment itself - "For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it." While humans did then exist, they had just been created, late on the sixth day - they had yet to do any work. As with everything else, Jesus Christ was the first to observe His true Sabbath Day because He was the first to work (see also The First Act Of Faith).
"2:1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. 2:2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. 2:3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made. 2:4 These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens." (Genesis 2:1-4 KJV)
Fact Finder: False Christianity claims that Christ's true Sabbath was replaced by "sun day" because, they incorrectly say, that Christ's resurrection occurred on the day that the pagans worshiped their sun god. How does the Word of God prove that Jesus Christ was actually resurrected on His true Sabbath Day?
