What Happens After The Messiah Returns?

"They shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more"

On the day of the Messiah's return, "the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies" will gather together "to make war against him." The primary reason that the morally corrupt worldwide political, financial and military "Babylon" (see What And Where Is Babylon Today?) will attempt to fight Him will be more than just a supposed military threat.

In this world as it has become, "defense" is a word that has come to be used by the war industries for their products of war. It's a very profitable industry (former U.S. President Dwight Eisenhower warned against the "military-industrial complex") that enables them to support (in some cases outright buy) the election or installation of power-lusting politicians (see Presidential Quotes On War, Terrorism, Religion), who will then sell the wars that they provoke, or start, upon a brainwashed-into-gullibility "patriotic" public. Wars then generate even more profits when puppet regimes are set up in conquered countries, with massive purchases of "defense" armaments for the new "ally," that were destroyed by the contrived invasion to begin with. They will fight the Messiah because He is coming to bring peace on the world - that will put an end to the evil business of war.

The Beast

"19:11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. 19:12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. 19:13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God [see What Does Word of God Mean To You?]. 19:14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses [see Legions Of Men And Angels], clothed in fine linen, white and clean Linen In History And Prophecy]. 19:15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron [see The Coming World Dictator]: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 19:16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS [see Who Is The LORD?].

19:17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God [see What Is The Day Of The LORD?]; 19:18 That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.

19:19 And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army. 19:20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him [see The Battle Of The End-Time Prophets], with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast [see What Is The Mark Of The Beast?], and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. 19:21 And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh." (Revelation 19:11-21 KJV)

Satan will also be put away that day.

"20:1 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. 20:2 And he laid hold on the dragon [see The Dragons Of The Bible], that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, 20:3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more [see Sending Away The Escapades Goat], till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season." (Revelation 20:1-3 KJV)

Then, the famous "they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more" will be fulfilled. The business of war will end.

"4:1 But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the LORD shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it. 4:2 And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem [see The Constitution Of The Kingdom Of God]. 4:3 And he shall judge among many people, and rebuke strong nations afar off; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more." (Micah 4:1-3 KJV)

"This is the first resurrection ... They lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years"

The first resurrection will occur on the day of Christ's return.

Earth

"20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls [see What Does The Bible Really Say About Your Soul?] of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. 20:5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished [see The Eighth Day: What Does It Mean?].

This is the first resurrection [see When And Where Your Eternal Life Will Begin and The Harvest Prophecies]. 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years." (Revelation 20:4-6 KJV)

For the next 1,000 years, the Messiah will complete the work that the Father sent Him to do (see The Church In The Kingdom Of God and The Church: Mission Accomplished). Satan will be briefly released at the end of the 1,000 years as a final test of humanity.

"20:7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, 20:8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. 20:9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about [see The Church In The Kingdom Of God], and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them. 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever." (Revelation 20:7-10 KJV)

The second resurrection will then occur (see The Eighth Day: What Does It Mean? and The Harvest Prophecies).

"20:11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works [see Works Means Obedience]. 20:13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire." (Revelation 20:11-15 KJV)

The Messiah will then complete the Creation that He began (see Who Is The LORD?).

"21:6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega [see Israel In History and Prophecy: Alpha and Omega], the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. 21:7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son [see The Constitution Of The Kingdom Of God]. 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death." (Revelation 21:6-8 KJV)

"God himself shall be with them, and be their God"

After the world has been purified by an worldwide ocean of fire, and all salvation has been completed, God the Father will come to Earth where His Throne will be forever.

Stars of Heaven

"21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. 21:2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 21:3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men [see Where Is Your Tabernacle? and Mansions], and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away." (Revelation 21:1-4 KJV)

The only place where the famous "pearly gates" are mentioned in the Bible is when they will exist in the gates of the New Jerusalem on Earth: "the twelve gates were twelve pearls: every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass"

"21:10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, 21:11 Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal; 21:12 And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel: 21:13 On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates. 21:14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

21:15 And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof. 21:16 And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal. 21:17 And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel. 21:18 And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass. 21:19 And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald; 21:20 The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolyte; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst. 21:21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls: every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.

21:22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. 21:23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof. 21:24 And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it. 21:25 And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there. 21:26 And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it. 21:27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life." (Revelation 21:10-27 KJV)

With the Messiah's work completed, the Earth will be the eternal Paradise that it was created to be.

"22:1 And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. 22:2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. 22:3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him: 22:4 And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads. 22:5 And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever." (Revelation 22:1-5 KJV)

This Day In History, October 3

52 BC: The Battle of Alesia ended when Vercingetorix, leader of the Gauls, surrendered to the Romans under Julius Caesar (see The Politics Of Rome).

42 BC: The First Battle of Philippi. Mark Antony (see also The Cleopatra Connection) and Octavian won a decisive battle over Julius Caesar's assassins, Brutus and Cassius. Octavian later became Caesar Augustus, the first Roman Emperor, who declared the famous census that resulted in the prophecy of the Messiah being born in Bethlehem being fulfilled (see A History Of Jerusalem: Pompey And The Caesars; also Does Rome Have Christ's Birth Certificate?).

1656: Miles Standish died. The English colonist at Plymouth was made famous by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's poem The Courtship of Miles Standish.

1691: The Treaty of Limerick was signed, ending the Irish Rebellion against British rule.

1739: Russia signed a treaty with the Turks (i.e. the Ottoman Empire; listen to our Sermon The Ottoman Empire), ending a three-year conflict between the two countries.

1838: Black Hawk died at age 71. He was the "Indian" (an erroneous term applied to the native people of North and South America by European explorers who thought that they had landed in India) leader of the Sauk and Fox tribes in Illinois; the Black Hawk War of 1832 is named after him.

1863: U.S. President Abraham Lincoln declared the last Thursday in November to be the U.S. Thanksgiving Day. The observance of Thanksgiving itself originated long before it began to be observed in the colonies of continental North America (see Thanksgiving).

1866: Italy and Austria signed the Treaty of Vienna, ending the Seven Weeks War.

1906: At the Berlin Radio Conference in Germany, SOS was established as the international distress signal, replacing the call sign CDQ.

1914: At the start of the First World War (1914-1918), the first brigades of Canadian volunteers sailed from Gaspe, Quebec. The more than 31,000 men, 144 artillery guns and 7,000 horses, escorted by 10 British battleships, arrived in Britain 11 days later. They formed the First Canadian Division, the largest fully-equipped military convoy to cross the Atlantic up to that date.

1929: Alexander I changed the name of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes to Yugoslavia.

1940: In response to Germany's first-ever use of "paratroopers" (i.e. parachute troopers) in war (i.e. Germany's invasion of Denmark with their Fallschirmjager, in English parachute infantry - but contemptuously known to the people that they invaded as the green devils), the U.S. Army began to establish "airborne" troops.

1932: Iraq became an independent nation upon the ending of the British UN mandate there (a military coup in the 1960s brought in the regime that later was ruled by Saddam Hussein - who at first was an obedient puppet of the CIA, as was the neighboring Shah of Iran). After the fall of the Ottoman Empire at the end of the First World War (listen to our Sermon The European World Wars), Britain administered the vast area of the Middle East from Egypt to Iraq that had been under Ottoman control for centuries. Thereafter, while under British military protection, those Arab nations became free and independent (listen to our Sermons The Ottoman Empire), as well as did the land of Israel (listen to our Sermon The Balfour Declaration).

1941: During the Second World War, Adolf Hitler declared that "Russia is defeated and will never rise again" (see also Presidential Quotes On War, Terrorism, Religion). The German march toward Moscow was subsequently thwarted by the Russian winter.

1942: During the Second World War (1939-1945), the first successful launch of a German V-2 rocket was completed, from a Nazi launch facility at Peenemunde, Germany. The V-2 rocket became the first man-made object to reach space. After the war, many of Hitler's Nazi rocket scientists, including Wernher von Braun, were welcomed into the U.S. where they worked on U.S. military and NASA rockets.

1952: Britain detonated its first atomic bomb. The test was done at the Monte Bello Islands off the northwest coast of Australia.

1963: A military coup in Honduras overthrew President Ramon Villeda Morales.

1981: A hunger strike at the Maze prison in Belfast ended after 7 months and 10 deaths.

1990: The official political re-unification of East and West Germany after 45 years of Cold War Division (see Ein Volk! Ein Reich! Ein Euro!).

1995: O. J. Simpson was acquitted of the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman.
