Why Does Satan Hate Humility?
Lucifer was a high-responsibility (not "high ranking") angel who became a haughty (a word that means height i.e. heighty) "leader" of a rebellion against God. The goal of his vanity revolution ("For thou hast said in thine heart") was to make himself "above the Throne of God."
"14:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! 14:13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God [see also The First Rock Star]: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: 14:14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High." (Isaiah 14:12-14 KJV)
Lucifer's weapon was his lying, blasphemous mouth. Hence the reason that his rebel name is Satan, which means accuser. Satan persuaded Eve to sin (see How Did Adam And Eve Sin Differently?) with a lie ("Ye shall not surely die") and by instilling in the first humans his own arrogant lust to rise above God ("ye shall be as gods").
"3:4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: 3:5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil." (Genesis 3:4 KJV)
Satan's rebellion was about liberalism - overthrowing the established Order. While he failed against God, the world, such as it is now prior to Christ's return, is Satan's world. Ironically (as happens any time that a revolution is "successful"), Satan is now the "conservative" in his self-created world ("4:8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and showeth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; 4:9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me" Matthew 4:8- 9 KJV), while those who obey the Word of God are often regarded as liberals because they don't bow before the idols and the deceptions of Satan's fantasy world.
"4:3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ [see The True Gospel], who is the image of God, should shine unto them. 4:5 For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake." (2 Corinthians 4:3-5 KJV)
"Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind"
Everything that the Holy Bible says about genuine humility (revering or bowing to the religious, political and social frauds of this world is either cowardice or idolatry, not Godly humility) is what Satan rejected and attempted to destroy. Satan covers the true meaning of the Gospel, the coming Kingdom of God on Earth, because when it happens the days of Satan's kingdom will be over (see the Fact Finder question below).
"15:33 The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom [see Christ Died For Repentant Sinners]; and before honour is humility." (Proverbs 15:33 KJV)
The apostle Paul referred to it with "Let no man beguile you" (i.e. "11:3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ" 2 Corinthians 11:3 KJV), "worshipping of angels" and "vainly puffed up" - all of which Satan did in his rebellion.
"2:18 Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, 2:19 And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together [see The Birth Of The Bride], increaseth with the increase of God." (Colossians 2:18-19 KJV)
Many Christian-professing people erroneously claim that Christianity is about being lawless, even using the apostle Paul as their proof, but Paul wasn't talking about doing away with God's Law; he was talking about "the commandments and doctrines of men," with the purpose of mere "satisfying of the flesh." Satanic vanity.
"2:20 Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances, 2:21 (Touch not; taste not; handle not; 2:22 Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men? [see Will Jesus Christ Obey Your Christian Religion?] 2:23 Which things have indeed a show of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh." (Colossians 2:20-23 KJV)
The apostle Peter never claimed to be a "pope," but warned against such vanity: "Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being ensamples to the flock" Why? "Because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour."
"5:1 The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed: 5:2 Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre [see What Is 'Filthy Lucre'?], but of a ready mind; 5:3 Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being ensamples to the flock. 5:4 And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.
