Job 5: The Seed Of Fools
"For wrath killeth the foolish man, and envy slayeth the silly one. I have seen the foolish taking root: but suddenly I cursed his habitation"
At the time of Creation (see By Him Were All Things Created), all seed-bearing plants that were then in existence were declared "good."
"1:29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. 1:30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so. 1:31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day." (Genesis 1:29-31 KJV)
Later, when humans chose to rebel against the LORD (Who was and is Jesus Christ - see Genesis 1: In The Beginning Was The Word and The Kingdom Of The LORD God) and become sinners, other kinds of seed-bearing plants were created as a curse upon those who chose to follow Satan rather than the LORD. They were not "good," but rather were a toxic and noxious plague upon those who follow the self-destructive ways of the father of fools and losers - the Devil. The parable of the weeds is also about the two opposing kinds of seed-bearing plants (see Let Both Grow Together Until The Harvest).
"3:17 And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; 3:18 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; 3:19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return." (Genesis 3:17-19 KJV)
Allowing literal "weeds" to grow in one's garden, or allegorically, in one's life, will cause a loss of a good harvest - or even the harvest itself. Weeds are one of the toxic influences that "choke" the life out of those who are entangled with them. Satan wants humans to make themselves as vainly "stoned on stupid" as he has made himself (see also The First Rock Star).
The winner or loser principle of "seed" applies just as much to alcohol abuse (beer, wine and whiskey are made from seed bearing plants i.e. barley, grapes and rye) as it does to "recreational" drugs and narcotics (marijuana, tobacco, cocaine and heroin are made from seed-bearing plants; see Seed-Bearing Plants: For Food Or For Folly? and the Fact Finder question below). It's moreover the attitude that makes people think that poisoning themselves to death, while seeing and hearing things that aren't really there, is "fun." Such vanity may cause a loss of salvation because the LORD will not waste the gift of eternal life on those who choose to be a loser. One Satan is enough (see Sending Away The Escapades Goat).
"8:5 A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it. 8:6 And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture. 8:7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it. 8:8 And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear." (Luke 8:5-8 KJV)
Job's righteous friends assumed that righteous Job had sown the seed of his own troubles by having committed some evil. They assumed that Job was being punished by the LORD because he had "the foolish taking root." But Job had sown righteousness; the weeds were merely parasites that were feeding from Job's righteous crop (see How Did The Devil Challenge Job To Commit A Satan?, What Was In The Heart Of Job's Tabernacle?, Job's Prophecy Of The Resurrection and Let Both Grow Together Until The Harvest).
"5:1 Call now, if there be any that will answer thee; and to which of the saints wilt thou turn?
Fact Finder: What direct connection is there between Satanic sorcery and "recreational" drugs and narcotics?
