The Days Of Passover: Why Observe The True Christian Holy Days?
"Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; And did all eat the same spiritual meat; And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ"
The Days of Unleavened Bread (also known as the Days of Passover), as well as all of the other true Christian Holy Days (see the Fact Finder question below) were established by Jesus Christ as "the LORD God" (see The Identity Of The LORD God and The LORD God Our Saviour). Those who refused to obey Him, or presumed to obey Him in whatever way that they invented for themselves, were destroyed.
"10:1 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; 10:2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; 10:3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat; 10:4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.
The first and seventh Days of Unleavened Bread were commanded to be annual Sabbaths, Holy Days (to understand why there were two Sabbaths during the week that the Messiah was Crucified, see Nisan 18: I Ascend Unto My Father). Further, as plainly stated in the verses below, the correct counting for Christian Pentecost is based upon observing the Days of Unleavened Bread.
"23:4 These are the feasts of the LORD, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons.
The Messiah's Days of Unleavened Bread are wholly Christian, regardless of where in the Holy Bible, "Old" or "New" Testament, that we read of them. They are about living a repentant life of bearing "good fruit." The first Day of Unleavened Bread signifies the beginning of our Christian life, by accepting the Messiah's Sacrifice for repentant sinners (see Christ Died For Repentant Sinners), while the seventh Day of Unleavened Bread portrays the end of the journey, the yet-future time when eternal life will be granted to those who truly followed Him (see Who Can Be Saved?).
"5:1 It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife. 5:2 And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you [see also 2 Peter: 'The Servants Of Corruption Promise Liberty']. 5:3 For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that hath so done this deed, 5:4 In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, 5:5 To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.
The Days of Unleavened Bread (see the Calendar of Christ's Holy Days for detailed studies and sermons for all of the true Christian Holy Days) symbolize the repentant life of those who choose to accept Christ's Passover Sacrifice by obeying Him. That journey to eternal life is a one-way street because the Messiah is the only way ("way" means road e.g. highway, freeway) to salvation, in the "way" that He has established - the Son of God never left it up to humans to decide how to properly worship and obey Him, only if they will choose to properly worship and obey Him. By the Messiah's own words ("for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat" Matthew 7:13 KJV), the "many different roads to the same place" fantasy idea refers to the lake of fire, not to salvation (see Friends Of Jesus and The Lake Of Fire Into An Ocean Of Fire - When?).
"14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." (John 14:6 KJV)
Salvation is a one-way street on which there is no turning back, to life. Those who reverse course will not find eternal life, only eternal death (see 2 Thessalonians: The Falling Away Of The Son Of Perdition).
"2:20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. 2:21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. 2:22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire." (2 Peter 2:20-22 KJV)
"For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins"
The time of Judgment will come to everyone, sooner or later (see Could Christ Return Tonight?). When it does, there is only one opportunity (the opportunity is not a "chance" because one's inevitable calling is neither accidental nor unpredictable) to accept Christ's Sacrifice.
"6:4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, 6:5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, 6:6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame [see Did Judas Iscariot Repent?]. 6:7 For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God: 6:8 But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned." (Hebrews 6:4-8 KJV)
"10:19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, 10:20 By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; 10:21 And having an high priest over the house of God [see What Is Jesus Christ Doing Right Now?]; 10:22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water [see Living Waters]. 10:23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; for he is faithful that promised; 10:24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good Works: 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
