A Bible Journey, 126: Passover - From The Elders To The Priests
"For they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ"
The Passover was first observed in Egypt, on the eve of the Exodus (see A Bible Journey, 62: Why Is It Called Passover?; see also A Bible Journey, 61: The Natural Law Of The Passover Moon).
The next year, after the Israelites had received the Law of the LORD at Mount Sinai (see A Bible Journey, 69: The Camp At Mount Sinai and A Bible Journey, 70: The Christian Ten Commandments), they observed Passover on the Creation-calendar date (see Creation Day 4: The Calendar).
"9:1 And the LORD spake unto Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the first month of the second year after they were come out of the land of Egypt, saying, 9:2 Let the children of Israel also keep the passover at his appointed season. 9:3 In the fourteenth day of this month, at even, ye shall keep it in his appointed season: according to all the rites of it, and according to all the ceremonies thereof, shall ye keep it." (Numbers 9:1-3 KJV)
The directions for Passover also thereafter included a postponement dispensation for anyone who was innocently unable to observe Passover because of some other stipulation of the Law e.g. "there were certain men, who were defiled by the dead body of a man, that they could not keep the passover on that day."
"9:4 And Moses spake unto the children of Israel, that they should keep the passover. 9:5 And they kept the passover on the fourteenth day of the first month at even in the wilderness of Sinai: according to all that the LORD commanded Moses, so did the children of Israel.
The LORD God was and is Jesus Christ (see The Real Jesus: The Word Of The LORD God and A Bible Journey, 56: The Sacred Name). Everything that was given to ancient Israel was prophetic of Christianity (see A Bible Journey, 113: True Holy Days or Fake Holidays - Which Do You Choose?).
"10:1 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; 10:2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; 10:3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat; 10:4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ." (1 Corinthians 10:1-4 KJV)
The Israelites were led on their journey to the Promised Land by the LORD: "whether it were two days, or a month, or a year, that the cloud tarried upon the tabernacle, remaining thereon, the children of Israel abode in their tents, and journeyed not: but when it was taken up, they journeyed" (see also A Bible Journey, 110: The Strait And Narrow Way).
"9:15 And on the day that the tabernacle was reared up the cloud covered the tabernacle, namely, the tent of the testimony: and at even there was upon the tabernacle as it were the appearance of fire, until the morning. 9:16 So it was alway: the cloud covered it by day, and the appearance of fire by night.
Fact Finder: How is it that the first Passover in the Sinai was also the first Passover in which the Levites conducted the observance and sacrifices? Why did the elders do it for the original Passover in Egypt?
This Day In History, February 23
303: Prior to its creation of a corrupted version of Christianity for itself (see Emperor Constantine's Sun Dogs and Constantine's Crusades In History And Prophecy), Emperor Diocletian began the persecution of unspecified "Christians" in Rome (see also The Church Of God At Rome).
532: Byzantine (he Eastern Roman Empire) Emperor Justinian I proclaimed the construction of a new Orthodox "Christian" basilica in Constantinople (today known as Istanbul, Turkey). It became known as the Hagia Sophia. It later became mosque (see Constantine's Crusades In History And Prophecy) and is today a museum.
