Dust To Dust

by Wayne Blank

"This is the account of the heavens and the earth when they were created. When The Lord God [see Rock Of Ages] made the earth and the heavens - and no shrub of the field had yet appeared on the earth and no plant of the field had yet sprung up, for The Lord God had not sent rain on the earth and there was no man to work the ground, but streams came up from the earth and watered the whole surface of the ground The Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being." (Genesis 2:4-7) (see The Seven Days Of Creation)

A Galaxy We, and all other living creatures, are perhaps the greatest proof of God's existence. We are made of "dust" - lifeless natural elements of the earth that without God would not, and could not, live.

The average human physical body is composed of -

Oxygen (i.e. in water) - 97.0 pounds / 44.0 kilograms
Carbon - 27.0 pounds / 12.25 kilograms
Hydrogen - 15.0 pounds / 6.8 kilograms
Nitrogen - 4.5 pounds / 2.0 kilograms
Calcium - 3.0 pounds / 1.36 kilograms
Phosphorus - 1.3 pounds / 0.58 kilograms
Potassium - 0.5 pounds / 0.22 kilograms
Sulphur - 0.5 pounds / 0.22 kilograms
Sodium - 0.25 pounds / 0.11 kilograms
Chlorine - 0.25 pounds / 0.11 kilograms
Magnesium - 0.06 pounds / 0.03 kilograms

The choice of living forever, or dying forever, is ours to make. God will give each of us, sooner or later, the power to decide, for ourselves, whether we want to accept, or reject, His question, "Will you accept My offer of glorious eternal life?"

God created us as physical beings at first to accommodate those who decide to answer "no."

Fact Finder: Does God want everyone to repent and choose eternal life?
2 Peter 3:9
