The Mark Of The Beast

"He was given power to give breath to the image of the beast, so that it could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed. He also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead, so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name." (Revelation 13:15-17)

Daniel's Statue "A third angel followed them and said in a loud voice, "If anyone worships the beast and his image and receives his mark on the forehead or on the hand, he, too, will drink of the wine of God's fury, which has been poured out full strength into the cup of his wrath." (Revelation 14:9-10)

In the Daily Bible Study Birth Of A Superpower we examined the prophecy regarding a new superpower that will be coming on the world in the near future. It will be ruled by a powerful dictator who will have miraculous (from Satan) powers. He will eventually believe himself to be, and then openly claim to be, God - absolute blasphemy. This despot will be aided and abetted by an extremely popular and influential religious leader who will serve as his Great False Prophet. Hundreds of millions of people around the world will be deceived by them.

Together, these two men will influence the daily lives of people everywhere on earth. No one will escape their effect upon personal freedom, be it economic or religious. They will dictate how and when people are allowed to work or do business, and how and when they worship according to their own religious beliefs.

To those of a mind to do so, simply surrendering to them will not solve anything. These two men, because of their extremely wicked and blasphemous activities, are going to bring upon themselves great wrath from God - they will eventually be cast alive into a lake of fire (Revelation 19:20). Anyone who gives in to them will be subject to the same righteous fury.

What to do? Always obey God, regardless of any short-term persecution. Human enemies are very temporary - they won't last very long. God's love and gift of eternal life are forever. God will never forsake those who do not forsake Him.
