Although the world is still a mess, a mess that Satan is largely responsible for, a mess that is going to get far worse before Christ returns to finish the job that began with His Sacrifice as "the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world" (John 1:29 KJV), Satan is on the run (the picture below is regarded, by some, as Satan's "Wanted Poster" - for the reasons why, see the Fact Finder questions below). All of the evil in the world is now merely a fierce, but desperate, rear-guard action, by deceived and/or rebellious people, defending Satan's retreat. The Devil is on the run, and the forces of good will continue to gain on him until he is captured and put in the place where all of the other losers will be put when their time comes. Victory day is coming. Satan is going to be crushed. That is what the Word of God says: "the God of peace will soon crush ["bruise" in KJV] Satan under your feet" (Romans 16:20 RSV)
"Resist the devil, and he will flee from you"
Satan cannot withstand righteousness:
"Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." (James 4:7 KJV)
The Christ came to prepare the Way for the destruction of Satan's works, Satan's world (see Who Still Rules The World Today?)
"He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil." (1 John 3:8 KJV)
Satan grows more desperate by the day, as he sees "he hath but a short time" (see also The Last 42 Months of Satan's Kingdom):
"And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.""And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death."
"Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time." (Revelation 12:7-12 KJV)
