Deliver Usby Wayne Blank
"After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For Thine is the Kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen." (Matthew 6:9-13 KJV) "Who shall deliver me from the body of this death?" The greatest deliverance of God's people up to now was a physical exodus, from a place where they were made captives, to "a land flowing with milk and honey":
"And The Lord said, I have surely seen the affliction of My people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows; And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites." [see also "Land On Which You Had Not Labored"] Another great deliverance is coming, not (entirely) just an exodus from physical captivity however, a deliverance from a spiritual Sodom and Egypt that all people, including the apostle Paul (see also Paul's Ministry) have suffered. In Paul's words:
"For I delight in the Law of God after the inward man: But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 7:22-25 KJV) After a very grand and powerful entrance, a delivery into a new world:
"And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my Spirit. And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of The Lord come." [see also Signs In The Heavens and Smoke On The Water, Fire In The Sky]
Fact Finder: (a) The word "delivery" is also used for birth. When will people be "born again"? (b) How is it that there are different times of delivery?
