Who Started The First War?
by Wayne Blank
"And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the Kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night." (Revelation 12:7-10 KJV)
"Satan, laughing, spreads his wings"
When God alone existed, there was no war. When God created angels, there still was no war, as long as they remained obedient and loyal to God. Lucifer was at first a righteous and obedient angel, until he rebelled and started the first war (the quote below is dual in meaning, referring partly to the king of Tyre, but mostly to Satan e.g. "Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God" and "Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth").
"Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord God;
Satan was "perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee." But how did he become a rebel? Why did he go to war against God?
"How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit." (Isaiah 14:12-15 KJV)
Satan coveted the Throne of God, so he went to war to try to take it, just as humans go to war to take what they want. Satan lost and was cast down to earth, but his influence has been starting wars on earth ever since.
"From whence come wars and fightings among you? Come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members? Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts. Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God." (James 4:1-4 KJV)
Satan's direct influence in man's wars is sometimes accurately described in the most unlikely places, almost as though Satan is mocking what is so obvious to those who can see the Truth. An example of that can be found in the lyrics of the song "War Pigs" by the "heavy metal" band Black Sabbath (another blasphemous mockery by Satan's influence). In the most bizarre fashion, the lyrics of the song are Biblically correct.
