Psalm Chapter 126
"He that goes forth weeping, bearing the seed for sowing, shall come home with shouts of joy, bringing his sheaves with him" attests to how salvation is a harvest, a succession of harvests - early and later (see Seasons Of The Harvest and When Will You Be Judged?).
"A Song of Ascents.
When The Lord [see The God Of The Old Testament and Why Did Christ Put Moses To Death?] restored the fortunes of Zion [see Why A New Covenant? and Zionism], we were like those who dream. Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with shouts of joy; then they said among the nations, "The Lord has done great things for them."
The Lord has done great things for us; we are glad. Restore our fortunes, O Lord, like the watercourses in the Negeb! [see Living Waters] May those who sow in tears reap with shouts of joy! [see No Pain, No Gain] He that goes forth weeping, bearing the seed for sowing, shall come home with shouts of joy, bringing his sheaves with him." (Psalm 126:1-6 RSV)
Psalm Chapter 127
"Unless The Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless The Lord watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain" is a lesson that Israel, both kingdoms (see The Northern Kingdom and The Southern Kingdom) learned the hard way. When they obeyed The Lord, no one could defeat them; when they disobeyed The Lord, anyone could defeat them (see The Galilee Captivity and Why Babylon?). The defenselessness is ultimately true for anyone who merely claims to obey Him, in their own way (see Do You Know Him? and I Did It My Way). Disobedience to The Lord is an invitation for disaster.
"A Song of Ascents. Of Solomon.
Unless The Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain [Jesus Christ was a "carpenter" for a symbolic purpose i.e. The Lord's Plumb Line]. Unless The Lord watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain. It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for he gives to his beloved sleep.
Lo, sons [i.e. children, male and female; see Children Of God] are a heritage from The Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the sons of one's youth. Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate." (Psalm 127:1-5 RSV)
Psalm Chapter 128
Bearing Good Fruit is vital to not being subject to a Baptism Of Fire.
"A Song of Ascents.
Blessed is every one who fears The Lord, who walks in His ways! You shall eat the fruit of the labor of your hands; you shall be happy, and it shall be well with you. Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house; your children will be like olive shoots around your table. Lo, thus shall the man be blessed who fears The Lord.
The Lord bless you from Zion! [see Israelite Monarchy - The Messiah] May you see the prosperity of Jerusalem all the days of your life! May you see your children's children! Peace be upon Israel!" (Psalm 128:1-6 RSV)
Fact Finder: Throughout human history, man's "peace" has lasted only until someone stronger came along, as they always have and will i.e. the "superpower" Assyrian Empire was overpowered by the "superpower" Babylonian Empire which was overpowered by the "superpower" Persian Empire which was overpowered by the "superpower" Greek Empire which was overpowered by the "superpower" Roman Empire etc. etc. etc. Why and how is Jesus Christ going to establish a Kingdom that will have true peace forever?
