The Judgment Seat Of The World

The Greek word pronounced bay-ma was used to refer to a raised platform, or seat, that was mounted by a few steps. It was a place where a judge, or a king who was sitting in judgment, officially rendered a verdict or decision. The word is found a dozen times in the New Testament where it is translated by the King James Version as "judgment seat" every time, except once, where it is rendered as "throne."

"12:21 And upon a set day Herod [listen to our Sermon The Herods], arrayed in royal apparel, sat upon his throne, and made an oration unto them." (Acts 12:21 KJV)

Pilate's "judgment seat" was the place where Satan's world spewed its perverted verdict upon the Son of God.

"27:17 Therefore when they were gathered together, Pilate said unto them, Whom will ye that I release unto you? Barabbas, or Jesus which is called Christ? 27:18 For he knew that for envy they had delivered him.

27:19 When he was set down on the judgment seat, his wife sent unto him, saying, Have thou nothing to do with that just man: for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of him.

27:20 But the chief priests and elders [see Is Your Religion Your Religion? and The High Priest's Deal With The Devil] persuaded the multitude that they should ask Barabbas, and destroy Jesus.

27:21 The governor answered and said unto them, Whether of the twain will ye that I release unto you?

They said, Barabbas.

27:22 Pilate saith unto them, What shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ?

They all say unto him, Let him be crucified.

27:23 And the governor said, Why, what evil hath he done?

But they cried out the more, saying, Let him be crucified.

27:24 When Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but that rather a tumult was made, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person: see ye to it.

27:25 Then answered all the people, and said, His blood be on us, and on our children [see 'His Blood Be On Us And Our Children'].

27:26 Then released he Barabbas unto them: and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered him to be crucified." (Matthew 27:17-26 KJV)

"We must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ"

The lie-loving carnal world (e.g. see Lethal Lust) sat in "judgment" of Christ because it hates and fears the Truth more than all other things together. The Truth uncomfortably exposes the "world" as the planet of rebellious, delinquent children that it still is, for now.

The Holy Scriptures

"30:9 That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the LORD [see 'Before Abraham Was, I AM' and The Mount Sinai Prophecy]:

30:10 Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits: 30:11 Get you out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us." (Isaiah 30:9-11 KJV)

It was for that reason that, as was done to The Messiah Himself, those who truly obeyed the Words of Christ also found themselves before the judgment seat of the "world" (see the Fact Finder question below).

"25:1 Now when Festus was come into the province, after three days he ascended from Caesarea to Jerusalem. 25:2 Then the high priest and the chief of the Jews informed him against Paul [see Paul's Ministry; also Paul's Passport], and besought him, 25:3 And desired favour against him, that he would send for him to Jerusalem, laying wait in the way to kill him. 25:4 But Festus answered, that Paul should be kept at Caesarea, and that he himself would depart shortly thither. 25:5 Let them therefore, said he, which among you are able, go down with me, and accuse this man, if there be any wickedness in him.

25:6 And when he had tarried among them more than ten days, he went down unto Caesarea; and the next day sitting on the judgment seat commanded Paul to be brought. 25:7 And when he was come, the Jews which came down from Jerusalem stood round about, and laid many and grievous complaints against Paul, which they could not prove." (Acts 25:1-7 KJV)

The judgment seat of the corrupt world is going to end when The Christ comes to sit on His Judgment Seat (see also Christ's Mercy Seat), where Truth, Justice, and God's Way will reign over all the world (see Anti-Zion Is Anti-Christ and The Coming World Dictator; also The Lake Of Fire Into An Ocean Of Fire - When?).

"14:9 For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living [see Why Were Humans Created Physical?]. 14:10 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. 14:11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. 14:12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God." (Romans 14:9-12 KJV)

"5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad." (2 Corinthians 5:10 KJV)
